Campus-Wide AV Integration Across 20+ Buildings
The Catholic University of America
Project Overview
Comprehensive, multi-year AV systems integration across more than 20 buildings on the Catholic University of America campus in Washington, D.C. — spanning auditoriums, classrooms, conference rooms, student centers, chapels, and administrative spaces.
The Challenge
Catholic University needed a trusted AV partner capable of managing a wide variety of spaces across campus — from large auditoriums like McLnerney Auditorium in Leahy Hall to intimate conference rooms and modern HyFlex classrooms. Each building had unique architectural constraints, varying infrastructure, and different end-user needs. The university required consistent, reliable systems that could be maintained by campus AV staff while supporting diverse use cases including lectures, video conferencing, wireless presentations, and events.
Our Solution
RTZ Audio Visual designed and installed tailored AV solutions for each space while maintaining a standardized approach to control systems and user interfaces. Auditoriums received Extron control processors, Clearone audio DSP, and multi-source switching. Conference rooms were outfitted with Extron touchpanels, Barco wireless presentation systems, and Panasonic displays. Classrooms across the Pryzbyla Center, Father O'Connell Hall, and other buildings received consistent Extron switching, Shure wireless microphones, and QSC audio processing. The result is a campus where faculty, staff, and students experience intuitive, reliable AV in every room.
